The end of last school year we sponsored a great art project. It was called "Windows of Me" taught at Independence and Provo High. We discussed the difference between "mirror art" and "window art." Students contributed their thoughts on how "mirror art" reflects what people want to see. Mirror art is generally surface level. You can think of it as an Instagram feed where every photo is perfectly posed to present a beautiful perception of reality. "Window art," on the other hand, lets you see into the artist's thoughts, feelings, and soul. Window art allows for much more dimension and meaning. Summer is upon us and we balance life/work/play . . . sort of ;). Our motto is Stay Tied to What You Love & Never Tied Down. One more month of sun & we plan to make the best of it. Behind the scenes of the first 500 ties #origins #roots ♠️ As a researcher & designer, before INK I had limited experience behind a sewing machine. It took weeks, even months to get the designs right. Every stitch had to be learned - and then practiced and perfected. It was an awkward process, (as many creative endeavors are) but over time, the process became an art and now the art is this business we call INK that is beginning to flourish. I value those countless hours cutting, stitching, ironing, folding & glancing out those big picture windows. . . I became intimately aware of every detail of my ties, as well as every motivating thought that keeps me moving forward....

A typical day at INK, starting at 3 a.m. Lots to do ;). I bought this in honor of my younger brother, Eric, who taught me to do just that. After tons and tons (and tons) of work. . . some super exciting stuff happening! We'll keep you posted! - Gotta run ;)
